Latest NetworkWired networks are capable of transferring data at a (maximum) speed of 10Mbps (Megabits per second), 100Mbps, and the new Gigabit networks operating at a maximum 1000Mbps. A NIC or Network Interface Card is required in a computer to enable it to communicate to other network devices. Most motherboards do have network capabilities built onto them and a NIC is not required. A Hub is an electronic box that allows you to connect the different systems on a network to each other by using networking cables.
