The ultra-range design uses internal 2 x 2 MIMO dual-band antennas with 5 dBi antennas on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The access point is specified for coverage of up to 185 m2 and supports more than 250 concurrent clients, although actual coverage and capacity depend on the wireless environment, connected devices and network conditions.
WiFi 6 features such as OFDMA, MU-MIMO, 1024-QAM and HE160 help improve network efficiency and wireless performance. The 160 MHz channel width is supported on the 5 GHz band when compatible client devices and local regulations allow it.
The EAP653-UR integrates with the Omada SDN platform for centralized network management.
