IDE Disk on module / DOM A disk on module (DOM) is a flash drive with either 40/44 pins IDE/Standard ATA Interface USB or SATA Interface to be used as a computer hard disk drive (HDD). The flash-to-IDE converter simulates a harddisk, and therefore the modules can be used without additional software or drivers. They are used particularly within embedded computing systems where they can often be deployed into very harsh environments (where mechanical hard disk drives would simply fail), or in a thin client because of small size, low power consumption and silent operation. DOMs are highly reliable as they do not have any moving parts like regular hard disks and are small in size and light in weight. However, after a disk crash in traditional hard disk, some data may still be recoverable by scanning the physical media using specialized equipment, but there is no known method to recover lost data from a physically damaged DOM The DOM works the same way as a solid-state drive, but it is plugged directly to the motherboard. PATA / 40 pin IDE Flash modules 40-pin PATA Flash Modules can be inserted directly onto a system motherboard via any PATA (IDE) interface to replace conventional 3.5" hard disk drives. Ideal for use as bootable drives, the 40-pin PATA Flash Modules are an easy solution for integrating SSD storage technology into legacy PC-based systems. - Fully compatible with devices and operating systems that support the PATA standard (pitch = 2.54mm)
Specifically designed for use in space-limited industrial installations, SATA flash module offers fast read/write speeds and large storage capacity in a lightweight compact package. With robust, non-volatile SLC flash memory, the SATA flash module is ideal for use in harsher, more demanding environments, such as in industrial PCs, embedded systems, medical instruments, and network infrastructure.
